When a large part of a tooth is lost due to decay, fracture or another cause, and restoration with a simple filling is not possible, the use of inlays or onlays is an excellent modern conservative solution. At the same time, it respects the valuable remaining tooth structure, as the tooth is not fully covered, but only the damaged part is restored.

Inlays can be made either from “white” ceramic material or from a special reinforced resin. The main difference between onlays and inlays is that onlays also cover the chewing surface of the tooth, thereby strengthening its durability.

They are fabricated in a dental laboratory and, once bonded in the clinic, they acquire excellent strength and tolerance.

Discuss with your dentist whether onlays are the ideal solution for your case.
